When I was 26 years old, life in Brazil was very hard. I had two jobs, one in the morning and one at night, just to pay my bills. In the morning, I worked as a barista in a busy café. I served coffee and breakfast to many people. The job was tough, and I was tired before the day even started. But I couldn’t rest because in the evening, I worked as a cashier in a supermarket. This job lasted until late at night, so I didn’t have much time to sleep.
Working two jobs made me very tired and stressed. I didn’t have time for myself, and I felt my health getting worse. I knew I couldn’t live like this forever. I wanted to change my life and have a better future.
One day, I realized that learning English could give me better opportunities, not only in Brazil but also in other countries. I decided to use my free time to learn English. I joined an evening class and studied between my work shifts. It was hard, but I was determined. I practiced every chance I got, even if it meant sleeping less.
Slowly, my hard work started to pay off. As my English got better, I applied for jobs that needed English skills. My first success was getting a job as a customer service representative for an international company. The pay was better, and the job was less tiring. This new job allowed me to quit one of my old jobs, so I had more time to focus on improving my English and planning for the future.
Learning English not only helped me get a better job but also opened my mind to new possibilities. I started thinking about working in other countries. With my better English, I applied for a job in a multinational company in Europe. Moving to a new country was scary, but it was a chance to start a new and better life.
Today, my life is very different. I have one good job that I like, in a nice work environment. I have time to do hobbies, travel, and make new friends. Learning English was the key to many new opportunities. It was a hard journey, but it was worth it. I look back at my old struggles and feel proud of how far I have come. Learning English changed my life, and I am thankful for the new path it gave me.
